What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition where a man has difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection sufficient for sexual activity. Chronic health issues, lifestyle factors (smoking, excessive alcohol use, lack of physical activity), and psychological factors (anxiety, stress, depression, past trauma) can all negatively affect erectile function. Men sometimes need help addressing the underlying psychological causes.
Impact
ED can occur occasionally, but when it becomes frequent, it can negatively impact self-esteem and relationships, and lead to feelings of embarrassment, low self-esteem, and anxiety.
Over time, these psychological effects can worsen, leading to social withdrawal and decreased overall life satisfaction. We offer psychological treatments for erectile dysfunction.
What is Low Libido?
Low libido refers to a reduced or lack of sexual desire. It can be temporary or long-term and may stem from various factors. Hormonal imbalances, health conditions, lifestyle, and mental health/psychological factors can all attribute to men experiencing low libido.
Impact
Low libido can significantly impact men’s mental health, leading to reduced self-esteem, increased anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal. Men may feel isolated or rejected, and in some cases, may resort to substances to cope.
It often affects relationships, causing frustration and emotional disconnection, while contributing to performance anxiety and stress. We offer psychological treatments for low libido.
What is Premature Ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation (PE) occurs when a man ejaculates sooner than desired during sexual activity, often before or shortly after penetration. Often, worries about sexual performance can cause a man to ejaculate too quickly, as well as other causes like relationship issues, hormonal imbalances, and psychological problems.
impact
For men, the fear of not meeting sexual expectations can sometimes lead to performance anxiety and a decrease in self-esteem. PE may also create tension in relationships, leading to frustration, emotional distance, and a lack of intimacy. Over time, these challenges can contribute to depression, social withdrawal, and a reduced sense of sexual confidence. We offer psychological treatments for premature ejaculation.
