What is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity. Men with ADHD may find it challenging to focus, follow through with tasks, or manage impulsive behaviors.

Symptoms include difficulty staying on task, forgetfulness, restlessness, and trouble organizing activities.

Impact

ADHD can significantly impair both attention and interpersonal relationships. Some men may struggle to maintain focus during conversations, leading to misunderstandings or appearing inattentive.

Impulsivity associated with ADHD may result in interrupting others or difficulty waiting turns in conversations, which can hinder effective communication and social interactions. We offer formal ADHD assessments, so you can get to the root cause of your inattention.

What is Autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects social interaction, communication, and behavior. The symptoms vary widely, with some individuals having significant challenges, while others may only experience mild difficulties.

Common traits include difficulty with social cues (like body language or facial expressions), a preference for routine, and intense focus on specific interests.

impact

Men with ASD may have difficulty maintaining attention during social interactions due to challenges in processing social cues. This can lead to misunderstandings in conversations or struggles in group settings.

Social interactions can be challenging for people with ASD, as they may not intuitively understand social rules or recognize emotional expressions from others. We offer formal Autism assessments for adults, so you can better understand yourself.

What are personality disorders?

Personality disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by persistent patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that deviate significantly from societal expectations. These patterns are often inflexible and cause distress or impair functioning.

Common types include Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), and Avoidant Personality Disorder (APD).

Men with personality disorders often struggle with interpersonal relationships due to distorted perceptions of others, emotional instability, or difficulty interpreting social cues.

Attention issues may also arise, particularly when emotional distress or impulsivity takes precedence over tasks or conversations. We offer formal assessments for personality disorders, so you can learn to navigate the nuances of life.

What is social skills training?

Social Skills Training (SST) is a therapeutic intervention aimed at improving interpersonal skills, such as communication, conflict resolution, assertiveness, and emotional expression.

SST is often used to help individuals who have difficulty in social interactions, whether due to ADHD, Autism, or other conditions like anxiety or personality disorders.

How Social Skills Training Helps

Enhancing Communication: SST teaches individuals how to engage in effective conversations, such as starting and ending a conversation, maintaining eye contact, and using appropriate body language.

Improving Emotional Intelligence: By learning how to recognize and respond to emotions in others, individuals become better at building rapport and showing empathy.

Conflict Resolution: Individuals gain tools for managing disagreements constructively, helping to avoid escalation and maintain healthy relationships.

Building Self-Esteem: By mastering social skills, individuals often feel more confident in their interactions, reducing anxiety in social settings.
