Clinical Psychologist

Simon, a Guelph native, holds an Honours B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto, a Master’s in Clinical and Health Psychology, and a doctoral research diploma from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where he focused on cognitive therapy for psychotic disorders. Returning to Canada in 2012, he became Lead Clinician for Mental Health at Etobicoke Medical Centre and later founded Cogent, specializing in psychological services for men. Simon is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and is a member of several professional associations.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Francesco is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a graduate student in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph. He is committed to creating a judgment-free therapeutic environment where individuals feel seen and supported in their journey of self-discovery and growth.

Diagnostic assessment usually requires 1 or 2 sessions. It entails taking a detailed history of the problem as well as current symptoms and underlying factors.  Psychological tests are often used. The conclusion of the assessment is the collaborative development of the treatment plan.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Effective psychotherapy treatment usually requires 8-10 weekly or bi-weekly sessions. A variety of psychoeducational, cognitive, behavioural, and experiential techniques are trained in session and detailed homework exercises are planned for the coming week.

    Both. We serve all of Ontario through secure virtual sessions and in-person sessions at our Guelph office. Access is quick and straightforward with online appointment booking and no wait lists. Book online here.
